Bachelor of Accounting
This bachelor’s degree program offers a flexible education in accounting that will provide students with the technical, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills that employers are always looking for. This program can be completed in eight semesters (4 years of full-time study), or at your own pace in a part-time format. Mature students who wish to continue working while they study will greatly benefit from the part-time option. Students in this program will complete eight advanced technical specialty courses and thirty-six general education courses. Students enrolled in full-time studies can take advantage of a workplace education (co-op) option to gain valuable real-world experience while they complete their degree. For students who are looking to apply their skills internationally, BCIT also offers many opportunities for studying abroad in the country of their choice.
Diploma in Business Management
This two-year full-time diploma program will teach students how to make strategic business decisions and manage the operations of a company. Students will learn topics across business functions that include: accounting, marketing, human resources management, operations, and computer applications. This program teaches students to look at a business through the lens of an entrepreneur that can analyze business problems, lead effective teams, and discover ways to improve profitability and efficiency. Through the course of this program, students will gain a large amount of exposure to industries and have plenty of networking opportunities. They will also gain hands-on experience through business consulting projects that look at real-world industry problems.
Diploma in Human Resources Management
This two-year full-time diploma program is the perfect program for students who want to better understand employment relationships, improve corporate culture, increase productivity and create places that people will love to come to work. Through the courses in this program, students will learn how to create performance management policies, employee compensation packages, hiring selection criteria, employee onboarding programs and employee retention programs along with HR best practices. All of these skills are in high demand in companies across every industry in BC and the rest of Canada. Students who already have a degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution can complete this program in nine months through the advanced placement option.
Diploma in Business Information Technology Management
This two-year full-time diploma program teaches students about the various information technology systems that have become a critical component of managing business information. This program combines the practical education of a business management program with the technical education of an IT program. Students in this program can choose between two specializations.
Enterprise Systems Management
The Enterprise Systems Management specialization focuses on the various types of business intelligence systems that are commonly used in medium-to-large businesses. Students who complete this program will have the knowledge and skillset to start or grow their careers by becoming experts in the following BI systems:
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Supply Chain Management (SCM)
- Customer Resource Management (CRM)
Artificial Intelligence Management
Artificial intelligence and machine learning systems are a very new technology to be employed in business, and they are currently being used to organize and optimize supply chains, manage customer relationships, transfer organizational knowledge, and optimize enterprise resources. These systems require skilled people to deploy and manage them, and businesses have identified that the ongoing challenge they face with making effective use of these systems is a lack of skilled people to deploy and manage them.
