Requirements
You must hold a completed diploma, certificate or degree in management, business or commerce; or you must have completed the eight courses of the Chartered Management Program (CMP)
Application Process
- Be a member (associate or student member). If you are not already a member, you must first join as an associate member.
- Complete the online C.I.M. ® application
- Complete the online Management Aptitude Evaluation (MAE) and pass with a score of 60% or higher.
- Pay all applicable fees.
Maintaining paid annual membership is essential to keep your designation valid. Lapsed memberships may require reapplication and associated fees.
International Credential Assessment
For equivalent academic credentials from institutions outside of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, and the US, an Educational Credential Assessment is required. Visit www.canalliance.org for details. The Professional Review Committee may request this assessment for any international credential, and it must be uploaded during the application process.
Application Fees
The fees associated with applying for the Certified in Management (C.I.M.®) designation are listed below:
- Application Fee: $25.00 (plus tax)
- MAE Fee: $150.00 (plus tax)
- C.I.M.® Annual membership: $275.00 (plus tax – renewed each year)
Our annual C.I.M. membership is $275.00 (plus tax) and renews every June 1st. If you have already paid associate member dues, you will only pay the difference to upgrade and renew at the full rate thereafter. Click here for information about our annual fee-schedule.
The MAE fee includes two attempts. If you pass on the first try, your designation will be approved. If not, you can retake it. If you’re unsuccessful after two attempts, you must wait 30 days before retaking the MAE (additional fees apply).
