C.I.M. - Certified in Management Designation

Obtaining C.I.M. consists of two distinct parts:

  1. Completion of the Chartered Management Program (CMP) or equivalent, or graduation from a Nationally Accredited Program
  2. Two years of professional-level management experience or completion of the Management Aptitude Evaluation (MAE)

Chartered Management Program (CMP)

The CMP is an eight-course program ranging from Introduction to Management to Strategic Analysis and leads to a Certificate in Management and Administration.

Introduction to Management, Managerial Communications, Financial Management, Strategic Analysis

Optional Courses (4) 
Canadian Business Law, Managerial Accounting, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Managerial Marketing, Economics, Project Management, Operational Management

You may apply for academic credits from other institutions as equivalents to some of the 8 study courses, please download our Application for Education Credit form, and mail as many completed copies as necessary along with your application.

Please Note: all Courses for the Certificate must be completed within seven (7) years of commencement and any requests for equivalences must have been taken within seven (7) years of application

The National Accreditation Process

National Accreditation approves entire college and university programs and grants exemption from the academic requirements leading to the Chartered Management Program (CMP) and Certified in Management (C.I.M.) 

Management Experience

Graduates of the CMP will be eligible to apply for the C.I.M. designation once they have acquired 24 months of professional-level management experience or completed the Management Aptitude Evaluation (MAE).

In order to be granted the designation, candidates will be required to submit an application, along with two letters of reference and a current resume within six (6) years of completing the prescribed studies.
