NCMA Professionally Accredited Programs at Algonquin College
Through our Ontario East Chapter, CIM | Chartered Managers Canada has partnered with Algonquin College in Ottawa to ensure that they offer programs that align with our Chartered Management Program. Currently, students are able to complete the Core Business Administration Advanced Diploma program at Algonquin College to become one step closer to becoming eligible for our Certified in Management (C.I.M.) professional designation.
Algonquin College was founded 1967 through the merging of the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology (established in 1957) and the Ontario Vocational Centre (established in 1965) and was named after the First Nations people who lived in the area. For more than 50 years, Algonquin College has been committed to providing a comprehensive education that gives students in-demand skills needed to start a career of their choosing. Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (Core)
This three-year advanced diploma program offered at the Ottawa campus is made for students who want to pursue a career in business, but aren’t sure if there is a particular area of business that they would like to specialize in. It is a flexible diploma program with options to be taken full-time on campus, full-time online, or part-time online. The program begins with foundational courses which provide the essential skills and knowledge needed for a career in business. The program is designed to allow students to take courses across each major in their second year and consult with third year students and program coordinators to help them decide how they would like to focus their education for the remainder of the program. Possible majors for this program include:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Human Resources Management
- International Business
- Marketing
- Supply Chain Management
- Operationa Management
Students who complete this program can transition into a career in business right away, or if they complete the program with at least a 2.9 GPA, they can apply to the Bachelor of Commerce program at Nipissing University’s Ottawa campus and receive this degree as will in as little as 12 months of additional study.
