National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: September 30
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
September 30, 2021 is a day to recognize and commemorate the history and legacy of Residential Schools in Canada. It is important to survivors and their families that we acknowledge and educate ourselves on the legacy of residential schools, wherein thousands of Indigenous children were taken from their families and forced to attend institutions with the intent of removing their cultural identity.
We encourage all CIM members to seek out education and professional development on Indigenous cultural history and awareness. In addition, please see link below to review the topics covered in the Truth and Reconciliation report.
